​​​​​​​Much of art is just waiting for images to emerge from journeys you’ve already been on.
 

My philosophy – "you can’t make art unless you do art" – leads me  down a path of  creative discovery  into a accessible world of  rich colors and breathtaking moments: a  full, creative, expressive, meaningful world. 

Back in the day Popeye, of the comics, was always joyously saying “ I Yam what I Yam.”
And that applies well to my joy of making art.
You do what you can do and keep on learning how.
 

My prints emerge from studying people and places, animals and objects.
Called whimsical, they are full of consciousness and impacted by color.
They emerge from life’s journeys - both emotional and place based.
They use shape, textures, colors and form to speak of consciousness, joy, beauty, toil, and
trauma.

Art is an enjoyable and interesting language,  a joyous way of communicating.

It speaks and sparks. And when other people become excited as well, then my perseverance pays off. Because art is not the perfection of technique – it is being able to create believability. Does it sing? Does it ping? Does it take you somewhere?
